layering in autumn is an art form and I'm still learning

Okay so the temperature has properly dropped this week and my skin is already doing that thing where it feels tight by midday even though I've moisturised. Happens every single year without fail. I'm not a dermatologist but from what I've read, the shift from summer to autumn basically means your barrier needs more support because the air gets drier and central heating makes everything worse. The issue isn't always that your moisturiser is too light — sometimes it's the order you're applying things. I've gone back to pressing my hyaluronic serum onto slightly damp skin rather than dry. Genuinely makes a difference to how much it actually absorbs rather than just sitting there. Also added a facial oil as the last step at night which I always resist and then always wonder why I stopped.

does the tight feeling kick in before or after central heating goes on?
