the banana + rice cake thing is doing something

Right so I've been messing around with pre-training snacks lately because I got bored of the same rice and eggs routine — still love it but you can only eat the same thing so many times before your brain just gives up. Past few weeks I've been doing a rice cake with a bit of peanut butter and half a banana about 45 minutes out. I know it sounds almost too simple. But honestly my sessions have felt noticeably better — less of that heavy, sluggish feeling I sometimes get when I've eaten too much too close to the session. The key thing I think is keeping it light enough that you're not still digesting when you're under the bar. For me anything too heavy and my deadlifts suffer. Not a science thing, just what I've noticed over a lot of sessions. Mind you I still wouldn't skip creatine. That's non-negotiable. But the snack timing has quietly become the thing I pay most attention to now.

how much peanut butter are you putting on — like a proper layer or just scraped?

the timing is doing a lot of heavy lifting there — 45 min out is pretty much the sweet spot for something that size

aye, I've gone closer to 30 before and it's a different story entirely
